It is helpful if you can suggest some times when we can arrange to talk prior to making an appointment. Please ensure you will have enough privacy to have a brief discussion about the issues you hope to work on in therapy.
We will try and call you back within 24 hours, unless of course you have specified another time. You will have a free phone consultation – usually about 10 to 15 minutes. You will have time to ask questions and find out more about the way we work. We can then schedule a first session.
Scheduling the First Session
If our initial consultation indicates that we might be a good match – meaning I feel I can be helpful to you – and you feel positive about meeting me – we will then schedule a first session. Once we have scheduled a session you can fill out a form that captures basic contact details and some simple information that will help us make the most of the first session.
In the first session we will take more time to
- explore the issues that bring you to therapy
- discuss how we might work together
- answer any questions you have about the therapeutic process and the Take Care approach
- discuss how many sessions you might want to consider
If after this meeting either of us feel that we cannot work together we will help you to connect with another therapist who has experience in the issues you bring to therapy.
